Who:
|

I'm still waiting for that perfect photo of me at
age 40... stay tuned! ;-)

Husband:
|
Paul
Scott Heidmann is
an exemplary husband, father, and man. Paul is a Software Architect,
and manages to fill his time with daddying, keeping our old vehicles
running smoothly, helping with the science
and math end of school, operating an ISP, hosting several
websites
(like this one, as well as church web sites), backpacking in the desert
and high country of Arizona, and serving a deacon and youth minister at
Westfork Church. He's also mighty fine looking, and for the 12
years we've been married, has never ceased to be intellectually
challenging, spiritually motivating, to say nothing of writing
hilarious poetry... all in all, I'd have to say I'm blessed to be the
helper of the best man around, and I love him more every day.

Arrows
in our Quiver:
|
All
our children decided they needed a few more names, so they each took
something with a family connection:
Laurent
Victoria (Patricia
Marie) Heidmann,
12 - Patricia, for her paternal grandmother,
and
Marie, for her mom

Megan Olivia
(Edna
Fredreca) Heidmann,
*nearly*11 - Edna, for
her maternal great-grandmother, and Fredreca,
her own creative spelling
of the feminine version of her
paternal grandfather's name, Fred.
Geneva
Melody (Evelynn
Ruth) Heidmann,
9 - Evelynn,
for her maternal grandmother, and Ruth,
for her maternal great
grandmother
Jacob Theodore (Walter
Scott) Heidmann,
7 - Walter,
for his maternal grandfather, and Scott, for his dear ol' dad.
(Jacob's just happens to also have a fabulously literary ring to it...
and you can only imagine how it flows when his mother needs to use his
full name -
at full volume!)

Church:
|
Westfork
Church, Rev. Steven
and Sue Rutt - Father Steve, and as I love to call her, "Mother Sue" -
are the heart and soul of this inner-city mission church in
Phoenix. What a paradigm-shifting and blessed experience it has
been to become engaged in this vital work for Christ's Kingdom!
There is NEVER a dull moment at Westfork - the challenges are great,
but the rewards are beyond expression. If you are looking for a
church with ministry opportunities in the central Phoenix area, contact
either Pastor Steve
or Paul Heidmann.

Interests:
|
Hmmm...
that's a toughie! Some basics:
- Painting
- Oil, pastel chalk,
charcoal; never had the desire to learn watercolor - I like to get in
there and get messy - I have to "feel" what I am creating - and oils,
chalks and charcoal are the bomb for someone as tactile as I am.
- Music -
Classical... what else is there? ;-) I trained as a Mezzo Soprano
and Violist and played for many years in the Fargo-Moorhead area in
small ensembles as well as the Fargo-Moorhead Symphony Orchestra.
Now as a fulltime homemaker and home educator, I sing to my children,
teach them solfeige, use music to teach all manner of subjects, sing
joyfully in the congregation during worship at church, and am
beginning, with much encouragement from the family, to pick up my viola
again after too long on hiatus. My beloved and
he-who-is-the-delight-of-my-eyes (little nod to C.S. Lewis there...)
recently bought me a surprise present that has made picking up my
'fiddle' a lot easier:

A Fiddle Stand! Woohoo!! So now I don't have to mess with
getting "Wilhelm" out of the case, I can just pick him up and let the
music begin! I am sure you will agree, I have the best husband in
the world. No question.
Musically my tastes are far-ranging, but I especially appreciate choral
music, ancient and Baroque solo and ensemble performance, and have
recently developed a great interest in the complex and visionary work
of the Estonian composer, ARVO PÄRT .

Challenges:
|
- Keeping
the house reasonably
livable **while**
- Home
Schooling 4 busy, inquisitive, bright, NORMAL
children
- Faithfulness
in devotions (though I'm getting better
on
that score,
thanks be to God)
- Making
better nutritional choices for myself and my
family
- Daily
Fitness Routine!! There truly is no
better antidote, either to the blues, or stress. Lets not even
TALK about the physical benefits - it's enough that it keeps a mom a trifle more level-headed than she
might otherwise be! :-)

Goals:
|
After
my husband and I finish
raising and educating four strong, productive, vibrant Christians and
send them out into the world...
- I would
like to someday open a
bakery.
OR......
- Develop
a health-fitness-beauty related home
business, selling
excellent
nutritional supplements, Mary Kay Cosmetics, and perhaps Rebounder
Mini-Trampolines.
or EVEN......
- all of
it under one roof!
I'm an idea
person. I
doubt I could actually RUN a business, but
I'm full of ideas! :) I need a partner... and some capital!
Finally,
- Losing
Weight - like a large percentage of other
adult
females in the
USA. More about this on the Fitness Page...
These, however, are goals that fall far
below
that which is my highest
priority;
and I have every confidence that by God's GRACE,
that primary goal of
pursuing my calling to be a Godly Wife and Mother,
will be realized, as I lean upon Him daily for strength, wisdom, and
patience.
